God’s Helping Hands Food Pantry

The SPHC food pantry was originated in 2001 by Buddy Fulp.  It was started by shopping for the best buys of food at local stores and was paid for by donations. Volunteers helped to contribute food as well.  Presently, we pick up around 4,000 pounds of food weekly at Second Harvest Food Bank in Winston-Salem, NC.  Food Lions in Eden and Madison are also so generous to help donate food every Sunday, which is a tremendous help to feed many families.  This is an additional several hundred pounds of food.
We receive donations of food from the Stoneville Post Office when they do food collections.  Stoneville Library also contributes a couple of times a year when they do their foods for fines program.  Peebles Dept Store has donated clothes and hangers for those in need.  Also, Deep Springs Country Club helps with our back to school items by donating backpacks and school supplies for us to distribute.  Toys for Tots of Rockingham County helps at Christmas time by providing toys for the client’s children ages 12 and under.
We provide clothing and household items, for a small fee, to help with the growth of the food pantry.  We accept monetary donations, clothing and household items.
Presently we have 21 volunteers that work on various days and hours.  This ministry would not be possible without them.  We are more than just a food pantry we are GOD’S children reaching out to those in need.
I tell you the truth anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to CHRIST will certainly not lose reward.  Mark 9:41
Open your hand willingly to your poor and needy brother in your land.   Deuteronomy 15:11
